1972
OIF Triumph
This bike is going to be a bit different.
The donor was purchased from original owner who
maintained it well then stored it for years. The Amen tail he
added has grown on me a lot since I got the bike, it is a classic piece. Ive
totally changed direction on this bike a few times. It is now
named Tesla, a great man I just learned about. Here's
a bit about him, more then worth the read. |

|
| This frame had a good bit of molding done
to neck & tail, I prefer the metal joints to a gollan of mud. Found
a crack in front down tube, glad I cleaned off the mud.

|
| The frame didnt sit rite, & the motor
tilted back. I dropped the front a bit the get motor standing up strait.
Made a new weird bar arrangement with an idea I got from Matt, at
Working Man Customs when I visited Him at his shop in Austin TX.
|
| OK, Starting over..... I decided I wanted to make it more
of a racer, with a look that is a bit more interesting, with a few
twists. The body, Tank, seat, & tail would be one piece from steel,
& exhaust would exit the tail at rear. Heres a few pictures of
development on the body. This bike has been a thinker.

Got a little further on the body. The tail & seat
area got changed.
Yes, that is a fin. |

 |
|
| Tonite I got the bars & levers done,
then started on the exhaust a bit.

|
|
| I started to skin the frame,
slow going, but should be neat.

|
|
| Tonite I played with a weird gas cap idea,
then skinned 1/2 the tail & the fin. So now its half & half :-) |
 |
|
| Tonight I got the tail &
tank nailed together & started on a headlight bracket that I don't
like yet.

|
|
|
Made a neat tail light & started on the fairing
& GPS :-)

OK, I got to the exhaust, sorry for the low quality cell
phone pictures. I made a Muffler, X pipe, kind of deal to experiment
with the sound of this bike. It needs to have its own sound. Im very
anxious to fire it after I get this spaghetti fully welded.

|
|
Experiment wire......Fire!

The
Ignition key for Tesla, this took a while.
|
|
Got the tires mounted, made a headlight guard, played
with seat ideas.
